Dallas On A Hot Streak Winning Four Straight After Defeating Golden State, 99-82

Dallas, TX – The Dallas Mavericks (20-18) defeat the Warriors (29-8) by 18 in an excellent defensive game by the entire team. 

Both teams went back and forth the entire first quarter ending it tied at 21-21. The Mavs defense was superb, forcing the Warriors to shoot outside. Golden State had a rough day of shooting, they were 0-6 from beyond the arc in the first quarter. 

Dallas didn’t let up on Steph Curry either, the Mavs held him to just two points in the first quarter and five points the entire half. 

The Mavs took control of the game the entire second quarter and it started and ended with their defense. Dallas didn’t give up anything easy and the Warriors were relying heavily on their three-point game, which they couldn’t buy a bucket if they wanted to. 

Golden State shot 1-of-15 from beyond the arc (6 percent) going into the half and shot 39 percent from the floor. 

Dallas wasn’t shooting much better converting on 4-of-19 from beyond the arc at 21 percent and shot 34 percent from the floor.

Dallas took a 14 point lead with three minutes remaining in the half. Golden State scored a couple baskets and came within 11 points going into the half.

The Mavs led 50-39 going into the locker room. 

Luka led with 15 points going into the half. 

Golden State went on a 8-0 run to start the third quarter to get within seven points of Dallas. The Warriors took their first lead of the game with five minutes left in the third quarter. 

Mavs came back and finished the quarter up three. Dallas went into the fourth up 70-67. 

Both teams went back and forth the entire fourth quarter until Dallas went on a 16-0 run the second half of the fourth quarter to take a 13 point lead, 88-75. 

Dallas held Golden State to 13 ponts the entire fourth quarter, outscoring them 29-15 to bring home the victory for Dallas. 

Kristaps Porzingis did not play tonight due to COVID-19 protocol. 

The Mavs will head to Houston to take on the Rockets on Friday. Tip off is set for 7 P.M.
