FORT WORTH, TX – The TCU Horned Frogs (10-1) are on a seven game hot streak as they open up conference play on Saturday to the number one team in the nation and undefeated Baylor Bears (14-0). Tip off is set for 4:00 p.m. in Fort Worth and will be televised on Big 12 NOW and ESPN+.
TCU has won 10 of their last 11 games this season and are led by preseason All-Big 12 guard Mike Miles Jr.. Miles is the only player that ranks in the top five in the Big 12 with scoring. He is averaging 16.9 points per game and is ranked third. Miles is also averaging 4.6 assists per game and is ranked fourth.
Miles is not a one man band, he has been helped with Emanuel Miller who has four double-doubles on the season averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds. Dameon Baugh also had his first double-double last game with 13 points and 11 assists.
This will be the first time the Horned Frogs have seen the court in 18 days due to COVID-19 safety protocols canceling or postponing their last three games.
TCU’s last game was December 21 against Grambling State and the Horned Frogs took away a 35 point win over the Tigers. Miles did not play but that did stop the Horned Frogs from getting the job done. Chuck O’Bannon Jr. led the Frogs with 19 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Emanuel Miller added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.
Baylor is currently undefeated at 14-0 and is ranked number one in the nation. They are coming off a 87-74 win over Oklahoma on Tuesday. That was win number 20 for the Bears leading all the way back to last season’s National Championship win.
Baylor is led by Senior James Akinjo, he is currently averaging 14 points per game. The entire team can shoot well and can knock it down from outside the three-point line. Baylor lost a lot of men after last year’s championship but they managed to recruit some great players and they are still in a very good position to go far this season.
