NEW YORK, NY – The Dallas Mavericks (22-19) trailed this entire game and ended up losing by 23 points to the New York Knicks (21-21).
The Mavs were trailing the entire game and it started in the first quarter when they went down nine points. The second quarter wasn’t any better as they went into the half down 11 points.
The lead continued to grow for the Knicks, Dallas went into the fourth quarter down 18 points and the fourth was the same energy as the first three.
The Mavericks ended up with an ugly loss and their offense was the reason behind it. They shot the ball horribly, shooting 8-of-37 for 21 percent from beyond the arc and 41 percent from the floor.
They also didn’t have as much ball movement as they have in previous games where they have won. The Knicks were picking up on that and playing good defense. The Mavs were not moving the ball and they were not shooting well which is the reason why they only scored 85 points.
Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Jalen Brunson added 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 32 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. All five starters scored in the high double figures for New York to get them a team win.
Kristaps Porzingis was supposed to play against the Knicks but ended up sitting out and Dallas also went without Head Coach Jason Kidd.
