Mavs lose big to Warriors 130-92, Tim Hardaway Jr. Out Indefinitely with Broken Bone in Left Foot

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Dallas Mavericks (27-21) lose big tonight to the Golden State Warriors (35-13) 130-92. The Mavs beat the Warriors in their last matchup in Dallas but tonight they couldn’t get it done.

Tim Hardaway Jr. fractured a bone in his left foot in the first half and it was determined that he will be out indefinitely.

Hardaway was fouled on a drive to the basket. There wasn’t a lot of contact on the play but after shooting his two free throws he was taken back to the locker room where he put no pressure on his foot as he was taken back.

Hardaway will be out roughly 42 games (10 to 11 weeks) according to Sports Injury Analysis Jeff Stotts.

This was a huge loss for the Mavericks during this game, and for the remainder of the season. Dallas did come up short tonight to the Warriors but they have won 11 of their last 13 games and they have done so with the help of Hardaway.

Dallas got out played tonight and the loss of Hardaway did not help. The Mavs got outscored in every quarter and got destroyed in the fourth quarter getting outscored 33-14.

Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 25 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. The man could’ve had a hundred more assists if Dallas could have made some baskets.

The Warriors defense forced Dallas to shoot three’s, which have been an issue for Dallas all season, and they couldn’t hit any tonight either. Dallas shot 10-of-40 at 25 percent while Golden State shot 17-of-43 at 39 percent.

Dallas didn’t shoot much better from the Floor, shooting just 34 percent.

The Mavs are known for being a very defensively driven team and they are one of the best defensive teams in the league… but not tonight. Their defense was sluggish and they gave up 130 points. Teams can not play to their potential when we get to this time of the season, we are about  half way through and it gets to the players. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t play their best basketball though.

The Mavs have back-to-back games as they have a quick turnaround and  play the Trail Blazers tomorrow night at 9 PM.
