DALLAS, Texas – The Dallas Mavericks (28-21) face off against the Indiana Pacers (17-32) at home Saturday night at 6 PM.
Dallas is comig off of a 132-112 win against the Trail Blazers on Wednesduy night after getting blown out by Golden State Warriors the night before. Luka Doncic led the Mavs to a victory on Wednesday night with a triple double, 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists.
Kristaps Porzingis had a solid game with 22 points and five rebounds with most of his points coming in the first quarter to jump Dallas to a 40-25 lead with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Jalen Brunson added 20 points, six rebounds, and 11 assists for Dallas as all five starters scored in high double figures as well as the sixth and seventh man.
Despite the great shooting night for Dallas at 54 percent they played down with their opponent letting Portland believe they had a shot.
Dwight Powell fixed that. He entered the third quarter and his energy alone gave the Mavs the push they needed. E put up 15 points and five rebounds and Dallas really needed that to excel them into the fourth quarter.
The Mavs are looking to do the same thing with a struggling Indiana team who are sitting at 17-32 overall for the season.
Indiana has lost three straight and will play the Thunder tonight before doing back to back games and playing Dallas tomorrow.
The Pacers are coming off a blowout loss to the Hornets 158-126. The Hornets set a franchise record for points in blowout that game and it was not pretty for the Pacers. Indiana shot 29 percent from three and had 19 turnovers.
