Dallas, Texas — SMU Men’s Basketball hosts Temple on Sunday afternoon. The American Athletic Conference game features 2 of the best teams from the conference, both on 4 game win streaks. The Mustangs sit at second in the American, behind Houston, just 1 spot in front of the 3rd ranked Owls.
The Mustangs are 15-4 overall this season and 6-1 in AAC play. The strong conference start is their best in the last 5 years. The Owls are 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the American. The match up decides who will be 2nd in next weeks’ AAC regular season rankings.
Offensively, SMU currently ranks 1st the AAC for 3-point shooting percentage and 2nd for scoring and free throw percentage. Point guard, Kendric Davis continues to shine, averaging over 20 points per game, which leads the conference. Shooting guard, Emmanuel Bandoumel has also been playing well, tying his career high and making 4 3-pointers in the Mustangs win over USF earlier this week.
The Mustangs are undefeated in their 10 games in Moody Coliseum so far this season, they will look to continue defending home court in the 2:00 CT tip off. The showdown will be available for streaming live on ESPN.
