Mavericks Looking to Bounce Back Against 76ers After Two Horrible Losses

DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Mavericks (29-23) are looking to turn things around against the Philadelphia 76’ers (31-20) in American Airlines Center on Friday night. Dallas has lost back to back games to horrible teams (OKC and the Magic) and they need to get their mojo back.

The Mavs are coming off an overtime loss to Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. Luka Doncic led things for Dallas with 40 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists.

Reggie Bullock added 23 points for Dallas.

The Mavs played lazy the entire game. Jalin Brunson scored eight unanswered at the end of regulation to take Dallas into overtime but the Mavs played just as they did during regular regulation, lazy.

“They just played harder than we did.” Head Coach Jason Kidd said after the game in the press conference.

Two things that Dallas needs to work on since their last two losses are rebounding and team effort. The Mavs got outrebounded by OKC 50-39 and it was a big reason the Thunder walked away with the win.

Another big thing Dallas needs to work on is team effort. Luka can not do everything on his own. Doncic had 19 points going into the half against the Thunder and he was the only Mavs player in double figures.

Not only does he need help from his teammates contributing to baskets but just overall effort lately. Dallas lost their last two games to teams they should’ve beat because they have been playing down to their opponents and that needs to change.

The 76’ers were on a hot streak for a minute going on a five-game win streak but it was snapped on Wednesday night as they came up short to the Wizards by three points.

Philadelphia is led by Joel Embiid, he had 27 points against the Wizards with 14 rebounds.

The 76’ers also got horribly out rebounded by Washington, 52-41. The Wizards had control of the boards all night which is why they came up with the win.

Tip off is late in AAC Friday night and is set for 9 PM.
