TCU vs Iowa State Preview

FORT WORTH, TX – TCU (16-6) will be back in Schollmaier Arena tonight to host Iowa State (16-9)  at 8 PM. Both teams are coming off of losses and are both eager for a win.

The Horned Frogs have not lost back-to-back games yet this season and they don’t plan on it tonight. TCU moved to 16-6 on the season after losing to No. 9 Texas Tech 82-69  in Lubbock on Saturday afternoon.

TCU started that game off extremely well, taking a lead into halftime but crumbled in the second half. They struggled shooting beyond the arc and had played horrible defense giving up 82 points.

TCU shot 46 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc. TCU was led by Damion Bough who had 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists, and two steals.

Iowa State has hit a slump losing four straight games and dropping to 16-9 on the season. They are coming off a loss to Kansas State in OT 75-69. The Cyclones had a 13 point lead at one point in the second half but they let the Wildcats fight back and when OT hit Kansas State had momentum on their side.

Iowa State shot 40 percent from the floor and 32 percent beyond the arc. The Cyclones were led by Izaiah Brockington with 7 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

TCU is 9-3 at home this season and what has led them this season is their defense and rebounding. The Frogs are ranked 32nd in defense this season and third in the country in rebounding. These two factors will be the difference maker in tonight’s game against Iowa State.
