Mavericks Win Fifth Straight Game, Beat Jazz 111-103

 DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Mavericks (40-25) have won their fifth straight game against the Utah Jazz (40-24) Monday night in American Airlines Center 111-103. Dallas has won nine of their last 11 games and have moved to 40-25 on the season.  

Both teams went back and forth the entire first quarter. It was neck and neck until the final two minutes of the quarter when Luka Doncic went off making back-to-back shots giving Dallas a 30-24 lead over Utah. Luka ended the quarter with 16 points. 

Dallas started the second quarter going on a 7-0 run giving them a 13 point lead 37-24. The Mavs defense stopped the Jazz from scoring for the first four minutes of the second quarter. Dallas continued to build a lead forcing Utah to take a timeout with 3:41 minutes remaining in the half.

Jazz went on a 8-0 run to come within five but Dallas finished the half strong taking an 11 point lead into the locker room. 

Dallas was up 60-49 at the break and Luka had 18 points in the first half. Dallas was shooting well, converting on 47 percent of their shots. 

Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith combined for 24 points in the first half to help Dallas to their 11-point lead. 

Dallas maintained their lead in the third quarter and took a 20 point lead going into the fourth. 

Jazz won the fourth quarter but it was too far gone. The Mavs coasted through the fourth quarter and took a eight point win. Dallas has won 9 of their last 11 games and are looking like they are getting comfortable with one another. 

Luka finished with his 12th triple double with 

Spencer Dinwiddie is getting comfortable here in Dallas. He finished the night with 21 points, three rebounds, and two assists. 

The Mavs will stay in Dallas and host the New York Knicks. Tip off is set for 7:30 PM inside American Airlines Center.
