FRISCO, Texas – Suspense builds for the 2022 NFL season as the draft nears in April. Calendars will be marked through mid-June as offseason workouts commence around the league.
On Friday, the NFL announced the dates for each team’s offseason program. Clubs with first-year head coaches are allotted an earlier start date, two weeks prior to the rest of the teams. For the Cowboys, here is a look at their 2022 offseason schedule:
First Day: April 18
OTAs: May 24-25, June 1-2, June 6-7, June 9-10
Mandatory Minicamp: June 14-16
The Cowboys’ voluntary offseason program begins on Monday, April 18. The initial phase (first two weeks) will incorporate strength and conditioning, along with physical rehabilitation. During the next three weeks in phase two, work can begin on the field in a controlled format or mock walk-through. The period will consist of individual player drills and instruction. No live contact or offense-versus-defense drills are permitted.
The next four weeks of the program in phase three include 10 days of organized team activities, featuring 7-on-7 drills, 9-on-9 and 11-on-11 drills. The OTA workouts are scheduled to occur at the Star in Frisco May 24-25, June 1-2, June 6-7 and June 9-10. Live contact is still not allowed. Mandatory minicamp, included in phase three, will take place June 14-16. Dates for the Cowboys’ rookie minicamp have not been disclosed and will be announced at a later date.
