ARLINGTON, TX- thirty-six points in the third quarter was more than enough for the Dallas Wings to secure their first home win against the Minnesota Lynx Saturday night.
Both Marina Mabrey and Arike Ogunbowale combined for a total of 42 points in tonight’s win.
All-Star forward Satou Sabally was able to make her debut tonight and touch the floor with 16 minutes of playing time. In this time Sabally had 11 points and snagged 5 rebounds. Dallas shot 46% from the field and made seventeen of the twenty free throw shots.
Head coach Vickie Johnson believed her team played exceptionally well despite the team rebounding number. “it didn’t meet our expectation. Our goal is 47 plus rebounds a game. We kind of fell short in that area.” Coach Johnson was overall pleased with the team’s defense in the win.
The Wings will rest tomorrow as they travel to Connecticut to face the Suns at Mohegan Sun
Arena, Tuesday, May 24th at 6 P.M CT.
