UNCASVILLE, CT- The Dallas Wings stay undefeated on the road as they defeat Connecticut Sun Tuesday night 85-77. Guard Marina Mabrey scored 20 points in tonight’s game, while Allisha Gray was right behind her totaling 17 points and eight rebounds.
Dallas started the first half of the game out-muscled as Connecticut outscored the Wings in both quarters giving the Sun a twelve-point lead at the half.
The Wing’s offensive effort is what won the third quarter for Dallas, tallying thirty-one points by the end of the quarter.The last quarter of the game consisted of constant ball movement on the floor, resulting in back-to-back shots made. What got the Wings going was Allisha Grays’s 27-foot three-point jumper assisted by Arike Ogunbowale. Dallas was up by three.
The Wings kept the ball rolling as they continued to make most of their shot attempts, securing the largest lead of the game at 83-74 with under two minutes left to play.
The Wings shot 40% from the field, but it was their 3-point attempts that made the difference in tonight’s game. Wings win 85-77. Coach Vickie Johnson and the team will stay in Connecticut as they will reface the Sun Thursday, May 26 at 6 P.M CT.
