LAS VEGAS, NV- The Dallas Wings were unable to secure their second consecutive win in tonight’s 84-78 loss to Las Vegas.
The Wing’s snagged fifty rebounds in tonight’s game, but were not enough to stop this Vegas offense as Dallas is outscored in the game. Turnovers were a huge part to play in tonight’s loss as the Wings gave up the ball 19 total times.
Dallas kept the game close within the first half of the game as players from both offense and defense contributed. The Aces outscored The Wings in the first quarter by only two points, giving this Dallas team grit to start the second.
The Wings tallied up 9 of the 22 points from the free-throw line in the second quarter, as this brought Las Vegas lead within 3. Ace’s Kelsey Pum was hot in the second after shooting her second three-pointer of the game, causing damage on Dallas. Dallas trails 38-40 at the half.
Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale was unstoppable in the third quarter as she led her team with 15 points, but the team still trailed by three entering the fourth quarter.
Las Vegas took advantage of the Wing’s total turnovers as the team seemed to capitalize on every chance that they got. The Dallas offense fought back at the end of the fourth but wasn’t enough to outshoot this Vegas offense. Aces win 84-78.
Tonight’s leaders for Dallas were Allisha Gray as she racked in 24 points and 9 rebounds, followed by Arike’s 21-points and Kayla Thornton 15 rebounds. Dallas shot 34.6% from the field in tonight’s game and 92.9% from the line.
