ARLINGTON, TX- The Dallas Wings were electric in tonight’s win against the Indiana Fever 94-68.
Wings offense was unstoppable as The Wings stormed past Indiana fever in Thursday nights win. Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings on offense with 24 points, followed by Teaira McCowan’s 12 points and 10 rebounds.
“Everybody played, and they came in focus and it was more about defense.” Vickie Johnson stated post-game. “It’s not about scoring it’s about defense and what you can bring to the team.”
In the first quarter of the game, Dallas dominated on the court, outscoring Indiana by 15 points.The Wings headed into the second with a 34-19 score, thirteen of the points coming from Ogunbowale.
The score quickly increased as Teaira McCowan added 6 more points to the board during the second quarter. Wings lead at halftime 55-38 at the half. It was a smooth ride for Dallas as the team was able to finish the game by outscoring Indiana in the remaining quarters, giving The Wings a 94-68 win.
Ogunbowale expressed her thoughts postgame stating, “We just wanted to have a solid game all around. I think we wanted to go into the game focusing on us and not the other team.”
The Wings shot 50% from the field, making 34 of the 68 attempted shots. At the three-point line, Dallas shot 47.8%. The defense was top-notch as the team was able to box out and keep Indiana from putting excessive points up.
Dallas will be back in Arlington to host Phoenix Mercury Saturday, June 25th at 7 P.M CT. The
game will be broadcasted on both Bally Sports Southwest and NBA TV.
