MINNEAPOLIS, MN- The Dallas Wings are on the road as they will face the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center for tonight’s Commissioners Cup. May 2st was the last time these two played on the same court, which resulted in a Dallas 94-78 win.
The offense was the name of the game as both Arike Ogunbowale and Marina Mabrey combined for a total of 42 points in the previous game to blow the Lynx out by 16 points. The Wings enter tonight’s game in the number three spot still in the Western Conference with a 9-10 record of the season. The team is being led by Ogunbowale’s average of 19.5 points and Kayla Thornton’s 7.1 rebounds per game.
Dallas as a team is averaging in the regular season 81.9 ppg and 35.6 rebounds per game, shooting 42.1% from the field. The Minnesota Lynx are coming off Sunday’s tough 88-85 loss against the Chicago Sky at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Minnesota sits in last place in the Western Conference with a 5-14 record. Their team leader Sylvia Fowles leads in points and rebounds averaging 16 ppg and 9.9 rebounds.
Tonight’s Commissioners Cup will begin at 7 PM CT and will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
