Dallas Wings VS Los Angeles Sparks Preview

ARLINGTON, TX- The Dallas Wings are back at the College Park Center to host Friday night’s showdown against the Los Angeles Sparks.

The teams have met twice so far this season, the most recent was June 19th when it was the Wings who secured the 92-82 win at home. Arike Ogunbowale, Allisha Gray, and Marina Mabrey were the top performers in the game, each scoring 20 points or more.

Dallas has lost the last two games including Tuesday’s 92-64 shutout by the Minnesota Lynx. The Wings are currently sitting in third place in the Western Conference with a 9-11 record of the season.

Arike Ogunbowale leads the Wings with 19.3 points per game followed by Kayla Thornton’s 6.8 rebounds per game. The team collectively is averaging 81.1 points and 35.3 rebounds per game while their opponents are right there averaging 81.6 points and 34.3 rebounds.

Los Angeles is being led by Nneka Ogwumike who averages 18.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. The team has also improved after adding guard Kristi Toliver to their roster. The seasoned Veteran has returned to the court after finishing the season in the NBA with the Dallas
Mavericks as an assistant coach.

The Sparks will head into tonight’s game averaging 81.2 points and 32.5 rebounds per game, while their opponents have outshot and outrebounded them with 85.9 points and 35 rebounds. Wings Satou Sabally is expected to miss her sixth straight game of the season with a bone bruise in the right knee. Sabally is a force for Dallas who has averaged 11.6 points and 5.7 rebounds so far this season in the eight games played.

Tonight’s showdown will begin at 7 PM CT and will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Southwest and CBSSN.
