Pads Are Officially On For Week Two of Cowboys Training Camp

OXNARD, CA – Monday marks week two of training camp for the Dallas Cowboys and the official first day of pads. The players put skin to pads and it got competitive out there today, some of the players were asked to calm down in regards to hitting one another.

James Washington left mid practice due to an ankle injury after being contested by Trevon Diggs in a 7-on-7 drill. He did not return to practice today and the severity of his injury is to be determined at this time.

Dallas had a scare after Jayron Kearse left practice today after struggling to put weight on his right leg. As one of the leaders on this Cowboy’s defense  this was troubling for everyone to see. The fans and the players were relieved to see him return to practice and finish the day. He told us after practice he just tweaked his leg and that it’s nothing serious.

BREAKDOWN OF PRACTICE:

Ceedee Lamb put on a show today for the fans and his teammates as he made tremendous catch after tremendous catch during today’s practice. The connection that Lamb and QB Dak Prescott have is looking very solid as the beginning of the season approaches. The chemistry between the two of them is unmatched and they seem to be on the same page on every play.

The question of who will be the Dallas Cowboys kicker still has a question mark after it after the Cowboy’s grabbed Jonathon Garibay out of Texas Tech and Lirim Hajrullahu from the Carolina Panthers. The day was stolen by Hajrullahu after Garibay could not get one to go his way. He missed many 49-yard kicks and couldn’t finish it when it came down to finishing the job. Just two days ago Hajrullahu went 7-of-8 while Garibay went 4-of-8 and two of them were short, from the 44-yard line and the 47-yard line. The spot is currently in the hands of Hajrullahu.

Jalen Tolbert and Kavontae Turpin were seen today taking reps at punt returner. Tolbert was also seen at WR2 today during practice taking reps from Dak Prescott. The current WR depth chart is: 1. CeeDee Lamb , 2. Jalen Tolbert, 3. Noah Brown, 4. T.J. Vasher, 5. Simi Fehoko, 6.  KaVontae Turpin.

Micah Parsons looked good today as usual. He forced a fumble in a strip drill. His energy is radiating and the defense looks up to him and Diggs to make good plays.

Training camp will resume Tuesday.
