OXNARD, CA – The Dallas Cowboys signed Anthony Barr to a one year deal on Wednesday night after practice was concluded.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy said, “He’s an exciting player and I think he’s going to be an excellent fit in Dallas.”
With the addition of Barr on defense it gives Dallas another weapon on and off the ball and gives Micah Parsons the ability to be more of a pass rusher. McCarthy likes the depth that they are seeing at this position and feels confident about it.
Barr was not at practice today due to medical protocols. He had to get a physical done and they were not done with all of that by 11 A.M. when practice got underway.
The defense had a solid day of practice, the secondary had a lot of pass breakups and looked confident going against Dak Prescott and his offense.
Jabril Cox was also not at practice today because he wants to play it safe. He will return saturday.
The Cowboys did two-minute drills as well as individual team drills for today’s practice.
The rookie kicker Jonathon Garibay took two attempts at 33, 39, 42, and 49 yards. He hit one at each distance going 4-of-8 for the day.
