FRISCO, TX – Head Coach Mike McCarthy told us in Tuesday morning’s press conference that they will not be placing QB Dak Prescott on injury reserve.

Prescott had a successful thumb surgery on Monday morning and he is now in the 7-10 healing process. Despite having surgery on Monday he is still at the Star today interacting with his teammates.

McCarthy said that they are not putting him on IR because they want Prescott to be able to interact and engage with his teammates on the practice field as well as the sidelines of the game. McCarthy said he wouldn’t be opposed to having Prescott wear a headset during the game.

Head Coach already ruled out Connor McGovern and Jayron Kearse for Sunday’s game against Cincinnati. McGovern left early in the game against Tampa Bay with a right ankle sprain. Kearse left midway through the way with a knee injury. Kearse got an MRI done after the game and his MCL is still intact which is good news. Both are expected to miss 2-4 weeks of play.

McCarthy said that they will not make any moves to the roster until Friday.
