Sonny Dykes Returns To SMU As TCU Head Coach

FORT WORTH, Texas — It is the matchup we have been waiting for all year. Sonny Dykes returns to his former school SMU but now wearing purple as TCU looks to gain bragging rights in the DFW area. It is hard to tell where TCU stands right now as they have only played two games with one being a FCS team that recently switched from division 11 to division 1. Yes they have the win over one power five program,Colorado, but that is the only time we have seen them battle tested.

Coming off a bye week the horn frogs should have had a lot of time to prepare for this team. Sonny Dykes also knows the ins and outs of these SMU players giving TCU a slight advantage but will it be enough to beat a program who is playing at home with a personal motive to win this game? All I know is that we will have a better understanding of where TCU stands after this matchup.

It’s also important to take note of the SMU new head coach.  Rhett Lashlee may be the new head coach but he is not new to that program. He coached and was mentored under Sonny Dykes for two seasons at SMU a couple years ago. Which leads us to believe these two teams will replicate each other. The game is set for 11:00 AM at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
