FRISCO, TX – The Dallas Cowboys (4-1) are preparing for QB Cooper Rush to start at QB against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (5-0) on Sunday night. According to head coach Mike McCarthy Dak Prescott needs at least another week of rehab.
“We are preparing for Cooper (Rush) to start against the Eagles.” McCarthy said in Wednesday morning’s press conference.
Prescott will be working with the rehab group this week again and he will start to do some light throwing at the end of practice on Wednesday. This will be the first time he has thrown a football since having surgery on that hand after Week 1.
“Dak Prescott will be in the rehab group, go through QB school and do some light throwing at the end of practice.” McCarthy said.
McCarthy said that he is going to be looking at how well he can throw the ball today and they will reevaluate from there.
LB Micah Parsons will have limited practice on Wednesday as well according to McCarthy. Parsons suffered a groin injury early in the game on Sunday against the Rams. He finished out the game but he clearly showed discomfort. Just to play things safe McCarthy said he will have a limited practice so that he doesn’t hurt that groin even more.
“We feel good about him practicing this week and playing Sunday against the Eagles.” Jerry Jones said about Parsons’ groin injury on Sunday against the Rams.
