FRISCO, TX – Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance against the Rams. Parsons finished the night with two sacks, five tackles, three QB hits, and one tackle for loss.
Parsons did all that on Sunday night against Los Angeles with a groin injury. Parsons groin injury happened early in the game but Parsons played through it for the remainder of the game. He told reporters after the game in the sideline interview that he wasn’t going to be taken out of the game. He said he couldn’t do a lot of sprinting but he could rush and that’s what he did. He recorded two sacks on Matthew Stafford later in the game and was a big impact for the Cowboys per usual.
Parsons has had a tremendous start to the season, he has had six sacks in the first five games of the season and is currently in a four-way tie for first in the NFL for most sacks. He has recorded two sacks in three different games so far this season.
Parsons could have easily done more damage if the refs would have noticed some of the holding calls that were not called. Parsons has been playing through this the entire season and continues to happen against opponents.
Parsons had a light practice on Wednesday due to that groin issue. Head coach Mike McCarthy wanted to not push him too much. He will have a limited practice again on Thursday but as of right now he will suit up on Sunday night.
