DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks are on a hot streak winning their 4th game against the Brooklyn Nets, 96-94.
Chemistry between players is starting to flow, and defense was able to hold their own against the star player himself, Kevin Durant who led the Nets in scoring with 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Luka Doncic led all scorers with 36 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Doncic joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to score 30 or more points in the first nine games of a season. Chamberlain did it in the first 23 games of 1962-63. Doncic played 38 minutes and passed the 30-point mark on a step back 3 pointer with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.
Tim Hardaway Jr. who led the charge for the Mavericks with Luka Doncic on the bench, started off the second quarter by nailing a floater and a nice midrange jumper off a crossover.
Head coach Jason Kidd stated, “we started out down two touchdowns, but we had a lot of careless turnovers (22 total after averaging 13.5) but found a way to win.” Kidd also made some comments on the good things he saw, stating, “everyone looked good. The team looks like they are coming together.”
Dallas will now hit the road to take on the Orlando Magic Wednesday night. Tip off is at 6:00pm.
