Rockets Take Off Against The Mavericks 101-92

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks weren’t able to lock in a win against the Houston Rockets suffering a loss of 101-92. With the absence of Luka Doncic, the Mavs bench had to really step up, contributing 54 of Dallas’s 92 total points led by Tim Jr. and Christian Wood.

Unfortunately, there weren’t any Maverick starters that reached double figures in scoring this game. The five of them combined for just 27 points, the lowest total from a starting five this season. Those five players were Josh Green, Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dwight Powell, and Reggie Bullock.

Hardaway Jr. led the Mavs with 28 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Following Christian Wood who had 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Dallas shot 12-of-55 from deep in the game for a conversion rate of only 21%. That is an NBA record for lowest percentage on 50 or more attempts in a game. Head coach Jason Kidd stated, “we just didn’t shoot straight”. Dallas forward Tim Hardaway Jr. also chimed in saying,”we just couldn’t get to the paint and Houston did their job correctly”.

Dallas will return home at the American Airlines Center Friday night to take on the Denver Nuggets.
