DETROIT — The Dallas Mavericks are preparing to take on the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. They will hit the road again after just being back at home for their one game victory against the Golden State Warriors with the final score being 116-133.
The Mavs could easily say that wasn’t an easy game to get the W on. Having to go up against the insane dynamite duo, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson is no easy task for any team to go up against. Stephen Curry scored 32 points for Golden State, including a quick-draw 3-pointer over Maxi Kleber for a 110-108 lead, but Dallas responded by scoring the next five points to seal a lead for the remainder of the game.
The Mavs should be able to handle business again going up against the Pistons. Detroit was expected to make some big improvements this season but it seems that is far from the case as they are 5-18 and last in the NBA. In their last game against the Knicks, they were defeated with a final score 140-110 and they trailed 70-56 at the half. In the loss, they were led by Isaiah Stewart who had 19 points while Bojan Bogdanovic and Marvin Bagley III had 13. Meanwhile, Jalen Duren had 12 points while Cory Joseph, Saddiq Bey, and Killian Hayes all had 11 points.
Detroit will also not have Cunningham and Ivey while Nerlens Noel is day-to-day.
Tip off is at 7pm EST.
