FORT WORTH, TX- TCU’s winning streak did not stop in Florida as the frogs took down the 2021-2022 Big East regular season champions, the Providence Friars, 75-62.
During the first half TCU did not hold back from shooting the three as they were hitting 57% from the arch.
Eddie Lampkin had a slow start to the season but did not shy away tonight. Lampkin led tonight’s game with 16 points and 12 rebounds, securing his first double-double this season.
“I thought Eddie was terrific. Really active,” said Coach Dixon. “We did a good job getting him the ball on the offensive end in the halfcourt situation.”
Damion Baugh made his return, buckled down 10 points, 4 rebounds and continued to bring his spark back to the court.
Mike Miles said that with the whole team healthy things will start to look different, in a good way, out on the court.
“We weren’t at full strength but now with our whole team back we are a completely different team,” said Miles. “We play hard, we play better, the ball moves better, and with DB [Damion Baugh] it changes a lot of things.”
Coach Dixon is happy with the way the team is coming together but he wants to secure a consistent starting lineup sooner than later.
“It’s our seventh different starting lineup in seven games. We are finding ourselves and we have good players.”
TCU is currently 6-1 and will face Jackson State next Tuesday in the Schollmaier Arena. Tip off is at 7PM.
