Week 15 Storyline : Dallas Cowboys vs Jacksonville Jaguars

FRISCO, TEXAS — The Dallas Cowboys (10-3) are heading to Jacksonville after back-to-back home games to take on the Jaguars (5-8) on Sunday afternoon. Kick off is at 12:00 PM CST.

Both teams have been spending the last month winning and are coming into this game expecting the same results. The Cowboys have won four of their last five games and the Jaguars have won three of their last five.

QB Trevor Lawrence has been leading the way for this Jacksonville team. Last week against the titans he threw 368 total yards for three touchdowns, zero interceptions, and had over a 70 percent completion rate.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy told us in the Thursday morning press conference, “Trevor’s ability to play within the pocket and out of the pocket, I would say it’s exceptional.”

With Lawrence’s mobility in the pocket it will give Dallas’s pass rush more of a challenge, but they are due since getting shut out to Houston last week recording zero sacks on the day. Not only will Lawrence be a challenge to catch but Jacksonville’s offensive line is solid. They didn’t allow a single sack on their QB last week.

Now, we could say the same for Dallas, QB Dak Prescott is well protected by his offensive line who is ranked first in the league after only allowing 16 sacks so far this season. With that being said Dallas won’t be the only one that has a good pass rush presence on Sunday. The Jaguars pass rush recorded four sacks and nine QB hits last week against the Titans and Prescott will have to be cognisant of that.

Offensively, it looks like both teams rely heavily on their tight ends. Last week Jacksonville’s TE Evan Engram led with 162 yards receiving for two touchdowns. Their next best player was WR Zay Jones with 77 yards and one touchdown.

Dallas tends to do the same thing, Prescott’s goto is TE Dalton Schultz well he can’t seem to find an open WR. Three weeks ago against the Giants, Dallas had three touchdowns come from tight ends, Schultz and Peyton Henderson. The rookie Jake Ferguson also got in on the action early in his career. He has recorded 139 total yards and two touchdowns so far this season.

If Dallas wins this game they will move to 11-3 on the season and clench a playoff spot.
