NASHVILLE, TN – The Dallas Cowboys (11-3) are heading to Nashville to take on the Titans (7-8) for their final regular season game before heading into the postseason. Kick off is at 7:15 CST.
Things to look out for against Tennessee:
Offense:
The Cowboys have won five of their last six games and are feeling confident entering the postseason. Dak Prescott was asked about having to win on the road in playoffs and he stated,
“For us to get to where we want to go, we’ve gotta play some tough games against some great opponents and win. With the way this team is built we’re fine if it’s on the road. It’s not daunting at all. It’s fun.” Prescott
Dallas is coming off a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in a 40-34 victory. QB Dak Prescott had a tremendous day against the Eagles, he threw 347 yards for three touchdowns and one interception. All three of his touchdowns were thrown to wide receivers, two to CeeDee Lamb and one to Michael Gallup. Tennessee’s secondary struggles defending the play vs. wide outs, ranked 32nd in the league in pass defense and their no. 1 target will be Lamb.
Lamb finished last week with 10 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Lamb has now had back-to-back games with over 120 receiving yards and he’s looking to make it three.
The Titans struggle defending the tight end position as well, an area that Dallas really excelled in this year. The Cowboys are stacked at that position with Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson, and Peyton Hendershot all capable of playing the position at a high level.
Where Tennessee can get their stops is the run defense. They are holding RB’s to 3.5 yards per carry which is second best in the league. Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott will face a harder run defense than what they have seen in previous games.
Defense:
The Titans are without QB Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis has been struggling finding rhythm with his wide receivers. Since taking over for Tennessee he has yet to throw over 100 yards in a single game in his first three starts and has thrown two interceptions. Willis will have his hands full with the Cowboys pass rush and the Cowboys secondary that had three interceptions last week against the Eagles.
The one thing going for Tennessee is Derrick Henry and his ability to run the ball. In Henry’s last three games he’s had 100 or more rushing yards. Dallas can not let him find the open holes and run away with the ball, because that’s exactly what he will do.
