Cowboys Holds Off Titans 27-13

NASHVILLE, TN – The Dallas Cowboys (12-4) held off the Tennessee Titans (7-9), despite a slow first half, in a 27-13 victory in Nashville.

The biggest issue we saw in the first half and the most obvious was the three turnovers by QB Dak Prescott. Prescott threw two interceptions and one fumble recovery in the first half that paved a way for Tennessee to stick around. Dallas took a 10-6 lead into the half after the Titans turned the two interceptions into two field goals.

With this win the Cowboys moved to 12-4. This is the first time Dallas has had back-to-back seasons with 12 wins since 1994-95. Dallas already solidified a playoff spot after beating Philadelphia last week but if the Eagles lose their last two games of the season and the Cowboys beat Washington they will be the no. 1 seed entering the playoffs.

Prescott does not like to talk about the playoffs until the playoffs arrive. He told Thursday Night Football reporter that he is only worried about Washington since that is the next game on their schedule.

“When you are playing on prime time football you are as good as your last game.” Prescott said after the game.

Dallas put the game away in the second half, Prescott had no interruptions in the second half and we saw great things from CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz.

Lamb finished the night with 11 catches for 100 yards. This is the third straight game for Lamb that he has recorded 100+ yards.

Schultz finished the night with seven catches for 56 yards and managed to get into the endzone two times tonight with two touchdowns.

With Tony Pollard out for the Cowboys and Derek Henry out for Nashville we didn’t see much from the run game. The Cowboys missed Pollard in the run game and it showed, they only had 87 total yards of offense on the ground and it was led by Pollard’s backup, Malik Davis with 10 carries for 39 total yards.

Mike McCarthy spoke to reporters after the game about the interceptions that Prescott threw earlier in the game.

“One was a drop, one was a minus decision. … I don’t like them. Unfortunately, you go through ups and downs in this league. Whether we don’t get any style points, that’s OK. We’re still at 12 wins.” McCarthy said.

The Cowboys will head back to Dallas and prepare for Washington.
