Inglewood, CA – TCU has been the underdog the entire year but proved a lot of haters wrong. After winning game after game they finally earned themselves a top 5 ranking in the country. Next thing you know they are in the College Football Playoffs and beat a highly touted Michigan team. They had one final task and that was the National Championship versus Georgia. The Bulldogs are reigning National Champions so everyone knew they would come out guns blazing and that is exactly what they did.
Georgia put on a clinic over TCU winning 65-7 to secure their second consecutive national title. The issue for TCU today was the slow start on offense. A lot of three and outs by Max Duggan made it nearly impossible for the Horned Frog defense to rest which ultimately led quarterback Stetson Bennet to pick them apart.
Bennett went 18 for 25 in pass completion throwing for 304 yards with four touchdowns. Those are some pretty impressive numbers especially for a National Championship game.
TCU is already predicted to have a pretty decent season next year. They need to look back at this season not as a failure but as a huge growth opportunity for this program. As far as Georgia goes the question now is if Georiga is the new SEC dynasty.
