Kyrie Irving Drops 33 points to lead The Dallas Mavericks over Utah Jazz, 120-116

DALLAS, TEXAS — It was a great game at the American Airlines Center for the Dallas Mavericks who got the W against the Utah Jazz 120-116. This was a much needed win for Dallas. They are now 34-32 so far this season, and this win makes them the 5th seed in the west.

Kyrie Irving had one heck of a game last night not only coming in clutch in the fourth quarter but he was also the Mavs leading scorer with 33 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assist.

Post game Irving stated what happened in that fourth quarter, “it was winning time.”
Now Dallas is preparing for a back to back game heading down to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans, and here are some things to keep in mind.

While this game seems like a must win to Mavs fans, there’s still a good chunk of the season remaining. Luka Dončić has not looked like himself the past few games. Dallas opted to sit Dončić on the second night of a back to back multiple times.

Despite the importance of the game to the standings, the potential of the Mavericks rests in huge part on Doncic. It might also be worth looking at whether Kyrie Irving needs a break as well? He’s averaging just under 37 minutes per game in these six home games since being back from the All-Star break.
