ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Arlington Renegades are going into week 7 of the XFL season to take on the Seattle Sea Dragons Friday in Arlington, Texas at Choctaw Stadium.
Seattle is riding a four game winning streak after defeating the Orlando Guardians 26-19 on Saturday, while Arlington saw its three game winning streak snapped with a 15-9 loss to the San Antonio Brahmas on Sunday.
Seattle has turned things around following an 0-2 start due to the arm of quarterback Ben DiNucci. The 26-year-old leads the XFL with 1,505 passing yards. It’s been a different story for Arlington. The Renegades get the job done on the defensive side of the ball, ranking second in both interceptions and forced fumbles. While their defense is great, the Renegades have scored only 6 touchdowns in six games.
Arlington plans to combat that stat by bringing in new quarterback. Luis Perez, a former QB for the Las Vegas Vipers, has now been traded to the Renegades to help advance their offense. Kyle Slotter has been released, leaving the two rotating quarterbacks Drew Plitt and now Perez.
Head coach Bob Stoops is excited to have the new QB and “is looking for positive change.”
Arlington is also looking to keep the defense tight, adding another new addition to the defense, DB Javaris Davis has been signed.
