FRISCO, TX – The Dallas Cowboys selected LB DeMarvion Overshown from the University of Texas for the 90th pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
He’s 6’4 224 lbs and is a force to be reckoned with. He played five years atUT from 2018 to 2022 due to taking that covid year and getting an extra year of play. He played in 38 games and started in 22 of them. In his final year at Texas he had 95 tackles, 49 solo tackles, 46 assist tackles, and four sacks.
“It means the world. Growing up around nothing but Cowboys fans. They are my hometown team so getting that call and it says The Star and hearing Jerry Jones voice that meant the world to me. I will never forget it and I will cherish it forever. The tears instantly came down my face when I saw that number.” Overshown talks to us after the pick about being so blessed to be able to play for the Cowboys, his hometown team. He’s from Arp Texas and played his college career at UT. He was happy to continue his football journey in Texas.
Overshown’s unique blend of length and quickness will help Dallas on defense.
We asked Overshown how it feels to know that he will be playing with Micah Parsons and he said, “It’s crazy, you know watching him on TV dominate and studying his film and seeing all the things that he is capable of doing. He’s a great guy and a great player. He’s the guy that’s going to wear a gold jacket one day so whatever I’m able to soak in from what he is doing best believe I’m going to be right there behind him soaking it all in.”
