ARLINGTON,TX- The Dallas Wings did not hesitate starting off the season right. Coming out strong defensively was what pushed them over the Atlanta Dream 85-78 in Friday’s regular season opener.
Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with a game high of 27 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Satou Sabally came out explosive leading behind Ogunbowale with 25 points, shot 53.8% from the field and had a game winning block.
The Dallas Wings will look to build off their first win as they hit the road to take on the Seattle Storm.
Seattle is coming off a 105-64 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. What held the team behind in this matchup was no player was able to score more than 8 points except for rookie Jordan Horston (8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists).
Jewell Loyd led with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Although leading, Loyd struggled early in the game missing her first eight shots.
These two teams will go head-to-head Friday May 26th in Seattle. Tip-off is at 9 p.m.
