The Dallas Wings kick off their two-game set and welcome Brittney Griner back to the court

ARLINGTON, TX- The Dallas Wings struggled on the road but will look to bounce back against the Phoenix Mercury.  Over the weekend the Wings squad fell to the Washington Mystics (75-74) and the Connecticut Suns (80-74).

For the Phoenix Mercury they are coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks in a close battle that sent the game into overtime. The Sparks were able to pull away finishing the game 99-93.

The last time these two teams went head-to-head the Dallas Wings took a defeat 80-74.

Tonight, the Dallas Wings will also be welcoming back Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner back to the court for the first time in over a year after being unlawfully detained in Russia last year for 10 months, missing the entire 2022 WNBA season.

The Dallas Wings have faced adversity this season when it comes to injuries and were granted a salary hardship due to only having nine available players. Odyssey Sims was welcomed back with an end-of-season contract with the squad Wednesday morning.

Sims spend the 2016 season with the Dallas Wings and appeared in 34 games averaging 14 points and four assists per game. Sims was also named a 2019 WNBA All-Star and was a member of the All-WNBA Second team. She also attended Baylor University and helped lead the team to a victory at the 2012 National Championship.

These two teams will touch the court tonight at College Park Center. Tip-off is at 7 PM.
