ARLINGTON, TX- Yet another win to add to the Dallas Wings winning streak. The Wings took down the Los Angeles Sparks here at College Park Center 98-84.
Natasha Howard paved the way with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists.
Los Angeles came out shooting 50% from beyond-the-arc and their main target of focus: Arike Ogunbowale.
The Sparks were able to hold Arike to only 6 points but the Dallas Wings had support off the bench from Odyssey Sims with 4 assists and Kalani Brown putting up 4 points.
Rebounds and ball movement were crucial in this second half. Odyssey helped the two leading scorers Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard with her ball movement.
Head Coach Latricia Trammell said postgame that her big three are setting the tone for the team’s game.
“They know when to take shots, when to deliver them, and they trust their teammates to be able to do that,” she said. “That is a great recipe for a championship team.”
Coming into this game Dallas had lost to the Sparks once at home and twice on the road. Natasha Howard said they knew tonight was a much needed win, “it was embarrassing that LA beat us three times,” said Howard.
“This win means a lot to us. We had a chip on our shoulder coming into this game,” she said. “We all wanted revenge against LA and that’s what we did. We came out and did it collectively as a team.”
UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will face the Connecticut Sun, who are coming off a 82-71 win against the Atlanta Dream. Tip-off is at 7 PM Tuesday, July 25th at College Park Center.
