FORT WORTH, TEXAS — It’s officially Prime Time for the Colorado Buffaloes as they upset TCU 45-42 in a highly anticipated matchup.
Head Coach Deion Sanders brought in a brand new squad, which left a lot of people wondering what kind of football team they would be this season. Offensively, Colorado just put on a clinic today, with quarterback Shedeur Sanders leading the way. There was a lot of controversy in the off-season about Sanders starting and people thinking that it was a political move by Deion Sanders to play his own son, but after the numbers he put up today, it looks like the right move.
Sanders became the first player in Colorado history to throw for over 500 yards. He went 38 for 47 with four touchdowns.
The Horned Frog offense did not play as well as it has in the past, but they put up 42 points, which should have been enough to beat Colorado.
Chandler Morris went 24-of-42 passing for 279 yards and two passing TDs. The biggest drawback was the two interceptions he threw, one of which was in the red zone. The loss of star wide receiver Quentin Johnston was definitely shown, and they need to find a star receiver to help produce.
Overall, TCU has a lot of work to do defensively. They should not be counted out for the rest of the season, but they need to find a way to put pressure on the quarterback, or else it will be a long season.
