TCU Looks To Bounce Back Against Nicholls State

FORT WORTH, Texas- TCU is looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. In just one week the TCU defense has been under extreme scrutiny after its performance in the season opener. The lack of pass rush and ability to stop the passing game was something that many TCU fans did not predict. Going into this season everyone thought that the offense had a big question mark after it, considering the fact that they lost their star wide receiver, running back, and quarterback. That said, the offense was not the side of the ball game that struggled. Nicholls State is the opportunity that TCU needs to get back on track and turn this season around.

During a press conference this week star linebacker Johnny Hodges was asked if the defense’s performance was a wake-up call and let’s just say he did not hold back on how he felt.  He spoke so emotionally that this quote went viral over social media.

Hodges said, “I guess you could say it’s a wake-up call. I don’t know how losing in the National Championship by 60 isn’t a wake-up call, but right now, we’re definitely the laughingstock of college football. Having 22 missed tackles, having who knows how many missed assignments, making our defensive coordinator look awful, just making his defense look like it’s a childhood kids’ defense.”

TCU needs to come out and show everyone they know how to play football and can compete just as they did last year.  Not playing down to their opponent will be huge because every team that comes into Fort Worth is looking to be the next team to make an upset and that would be detrimental to the Horned Frog’s 2023 season. If they play their offense and tighten up a lot on defense, they will be in good shape. TCU will look to get their first win of the season this Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium at 7 p.m.
