‘Super Bowl Super Bowl Super Bowl’ Is the Only Thing On Micah Parsons Mind

FRISCO, TX – Micah Parsons goes to sleep at night and literally dreams about going to the Super Bowl. The First-Team All-Pro linebacker tells the media on Wednesday that it’s all he can think about.

“I’ve been sleeping on it.” Parsons said. “I’ve been thinking about it every night. Every night it’s Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl, but you know, I don’t get too caught up on it.”

Parsons is right on track with head coach Mike McCarthy, on Wednesday afternoon McCarthy announced that the theme of the year is Carpe Omnia. Which means “seize everything.” The Cowboys have a theme every year, last year’s theme was “resilience”.

McCarthy explained there is an empty picture frame in front of the team room that represents what they are capable of this season. There is also an empty photo in the middle of the Cowboy’s other five Super Bowls.

When talking about the slogan and what it represents there is no other player that represents that more than Micah Parsons, and coach McCarthy agrees.

“He is a great example of carpe omnia,” McCarthy said. “He’s trying to seize everything. And he does it with such a competitive fire. And he has tremendous skill and gifts to go with that. I see him growing in every way.
“His understanding of the defense is significantly higher today than it was this time last year and definitely his first year. I don’t know if there is any area where he hasn’t grown.”
Parsons is in the running for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, even when wanting to get to the Super Bowl so badly Parsons understands that you have to take it week by week and the Giants are just another team that’s in the way of that right now.
“I know I have to take care of each week as its own. Each day has worries of its own. You have to focus on getting better inch by inch and, eventually, you’ll build enough inches to where you are in the Super Bowl.” Parsons said.

According to multiple sources Parsons QB pressure percentage is 20.8, which leads all edge defenders over the last two seasons. He currently has 26.5 sacks and counting in his first two NFL seasons which is the sixth-most in the NFL over any player’s first two seasons since 1982.

The Cowboys open their season with an NFC East rivalry, the New York Giants. Parsons recorded two sacks on Daniel Jones the last time these two teams went head-to-head last year on Thanksgiving in AT&T Stadium.
