ARLINGTON, TX — The Dallas Wings secured the No.4 seed in the 2023 WNBA playoffs and will host the first and second round; Game 1: Friday, September 15 at 8:30pm; Game 2: Tuesday, September 19 at 8pm.
Dallas has not won a playoff series since 2009. With the hire of head coach Latricia Trammell, this group has been able to reach new heights with her first year in the W. This is the first time the Wings have won 20 games since 2008.
The Wings have skilled players across the board and will have to utilize them heading into the post season. Satou Sabally is the front-runner for Most Improved Player and joins Candace Parkers as the only players in WNBA history to average 18 points, eight rebounds and four assist. She is a versatile player that can play anywhere from the 1 through 3 positions.
The Atlanta Dream will see the postseason for the first time since 2018. The Dream have been an inconsistent team this season and ended the regular season 19-21. They only shot 33.6% from behind the arc and turned the ball over 13.6 times per game.
Rhyne Howard is currently averaging 17.5 points and 4.9 rebounds and Allisha Gray with 17.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. They will have to work with the rest of the team to create a consistent run game on the floor if they want to take a win in this series.
These two teams will go head-to-head at College Park Center tonight, tip-off is at 8:30 pm.
