The Dallas Wings (2-0) defeated the Atlanta Dream (0-2), 101-74

ARLINGTON, TX — The Dallas Wings are headed to Las Vegas to face off against the Aces for their first appearance in the semi-finals since the team moved to Arlington after taking down the Atlanta Dream, 101-74.

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 20 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists. But tonight, it was a full team win effort. The Wings became the first team in WNBA history to have seven players score in double figures in a playoff game.

The Dallas Wings got off to a slow start in the first quarter. The Atlanta Dream took one-point lead off Rhyne Howard with a three-point shot in the last second of the quarter. The Dream took a 24-23 lead heading into the second quarter.

Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard lead the Dream in points, combining for 40.

The Wings got impactful minutes off the bench in the second quarter from Awak Kuier.

Kuier worked around the floor, finishing with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

Teaira McCowan was also an important post presence and grabbed 16 total rebounds with 12 points.

Heading back from halftime Dallas took their largest lead with 20-points, 70-50.

Atlanta tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter but each time the Dream knocked down a shot, Dallas added points on the board to maintain the lead.

The starting lineup walked off the court with 2:59 left on the clock, 91-70. Dallas’s bench came in adding 10 more points. Kalani Brown added eight points with four layups and went 3-3 from the line.

Dallas went on a 5-0 run against the Dream and Brown closed the game with a good layup in the last 19 seconds of the game.

With her first year as a head coach in the WNBA, Latricia Trammell, gave all the credit to her team and said their message post game was, “We are not done yet.”

“The best part was when they kept repeating ‘We are not done yet'”, said Trammell. “I told them to enjoy this moment. They have tomorrow off and get ready for Vegas.”

UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will hit the road to Las Vegas to take on the Aces for the first game of the semi-finals on Sunday September 24th. Tip-off is at 4pm.
