DALLAS, TEXAS — For the second consecutive game to start the new season, Luka Dončić filled up the stat sheet up in a magical way, as he put up 49 points, and the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Brooklyn Nets in a nail biting home opener.
After fighting and persevering through a tightly contested contest through all four quarters, the Mavs survived a firey 3 point shooting night from the Nets and pulled away with a 125-120 win to push their record to 2-0.
After leading Dallas with a 30 point triple double in Wednesday’s season opener against the San Antonio Spurs, Luka Dončić led the way for the Mavs yet again, putting up 49 points, ten rebounds and seven assists. He shot 16-25 from the field – including the now viral crazy one handed bank shot 3 pointer to essentially seal the win, along with Doncic having zero turnovers all game.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd stated during press conference, “that’s just some of that Luka Magic. He loves being put in those situations where he only has about one second to make a last minute shot..he practices for it. Sometimes you catch it on camera, sometimes you don’t, but he’s just built for it.”
Dallas will head back on the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday, October 30th, tip off is set for 7pm C/T. Stay tuned.
