DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks are coming off of a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. The Mavs played without rookie Dereck Lively II in the lineup. He was sidelined due to a lower back contusion due to a scary fall on a failed alley-oop against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Lively participated in Mondays practice but is considered questionable to play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets.
Dallas was also eliminated from the NBA In- Season Tournament over the past weekend. This tournament places each team in group play amongst four other teams before winding down to the final eight teams with the best record, who will then compete in the knockout rounds to crown the first NBA Cup champion in Las Vegas. With wins by both the New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns, the Mavs have been cut from advancing in the In-Season Tournament, but bigger goals are in mind for Dallas.
The Mavs are preparing to take on the Houston Rockets Tuesday night at American Airlines center and hopes to get back on track with the next couple games and secure some wins along with keeping a strong record all season long to get to the playoffs. The play off conversation is a tad bit away but game by game the goal is to make it there
Tip off is set for 7:30pm CT.
