Mavericks Blast Rockets, 121-115

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks clenched their victory to the Houston Rockets 121-115 at American Airlines center Tuesday night. Luka Dončić had 41 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, and the Dallas Mavericks prevented the Houston Rockets from advancing to the quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament.

Kyrie Irving was electric specifically in the second half, adding 22 of his 27 points in the second half for the Mavericks. The Mavs victory allowed the New Orleans Pelicans to win Group B in the Western Conference with a 3-1 record.

Mavs head coach Jason Kidd stated after the game, “that defense was what showed out in the second half. When you look at Luka, we tend to look over his defensive skills he shows, but he is a competitor and he does a great job at it.

Dallas will be back at home this Friday to take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
