MIAMI, FL – The Dallas Cowboys (10-4) are heading to yet another away game against the Miami Dolphins (10-4) on Christmas Eve. It’s an NFC vs AFC matchup, both teams are 10-4 and both come with serious threats.
If you like watching offensive domination, this is a game for you. These two teams have the best two offenses in the NFL… literally. The Dolphins are first in the league averaging 31.5 points per game while the Cowboys are second averaging 30.8 points per game.
Both teams offenses are led by two quarterbacks that are both rightfully so in the talks of MVP candidates, Cowboys Dak Prescott and Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa. Both QB’s are averaging 250+ yards per game. Prescott has thrown 28 touchdowns while Tagovailoa has thrown 25.
The matchup of the game that everyone is talking about is Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb vs Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Lamb is the third highest in the NFL with 1306 yards this season. He’s behind Philly’s A.J. Brown and Dolphins Tyreek Hill. Hill leads the NFL with 1542 yards this season. Hill did not play this past Sunday against the Jets and it has yet to be announced if he will be playing this upcoming Sunday against the Cowboys. Ramsey is looking to lock up Lamb like he has every other receiver this season. Ramsey has a 22.4 passer rating and is holding wide receivers to 1.6 yards per catches and 22 yards per game.
The Cowboys offensive line struggled against the Bills on Sunday letting Prescott get sacked on three separate occasions. They have no easy task this week dealing with Miami’s D-Line. The Dolphins D-Line is averaging 48 sacks on the season, which is 2nd highest in the NFL.
Defensively, the Cowboys secondary is going to more than likely see a lot of action on Sunday. Dallas’s secondary is allowing 150.9 net passing ypg, which is the second best in the league. On the contrary, the Dolphins offense is averaging 285.1 passing yards per game at home, which is the third highest passing offense in the league. With that being said it looks like DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore aren’t going to have a lot of balls being thrown their way on Sunday.
