NFL Week 17 Preview: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

ARLINGTON, TX – The Dallas Cowboys (10-5)  are back at home this Saturday to host the Detroit Lions (11-4) for their last regular season home game. The Cowboys are undefeated at home this season with a 7-9 record, backing to last season they have won 15 straight at home which is the longest active home win streak in the NFL.

Dallas is coming off back-to-back losses to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins so this week the Cowboys are looking to redeem themselves. The good news is Dallas has already secured a playoff spot despite the outcome of Saturday night’s game. The Lions have also secured a spot in the playoffs after they won the NFC North following last Saturday’s win over the Vikings.

The Lions have one of the best records in the NFL sitting at 11-4, there are only two other teams with the same record, the 49’ers and the Eagles. The Baltimore Ravens currently have the best record in the NFL at 12-3. The race to the first seed for the Lions is something they can get to if they beat the Cowboys on Saturday and the 49ers lose one of their next two games.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy said that the Lions are going to be one of if not the best team the Cowboys will play so far this season at home. With that race to the no.  1 seed Detroit is not going to lie down, this will be a very good game to watch.

The positives for Dallas going into this game is their ability to play so dominate at home. They average 30 points per game at home and are ranked one of the top two scoring offenses in the league. If you’ve been watching the Cowboys at all this season you know that most of their high scoring games come when they play at AT&T Stadium.

These two teams will go head to head on Saturday night at 7:15 PM.
