Dallas Cowboys Take The NFC East After Beating the Commanders 38-10

LANDOVER, MD – The Dallas Cowboys (12-5) defeated the Washington Commanders (4-13) 38-10 and are the NFC East Champions heading into the playoffs. With Sunday’s win they are the no. 2 seed and will host the Green Bay Packers next Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys wasted no time getting on the board tonight, their first drive down WR Jalen Tolbert made it into the endzone giving Dallas a 7-0 lead. Washington answered with a touchdown and field goal taking a 10-7 lead with seven minutes left in the second quarter. That was the final time the Commanders led over the Cowboys.

Tony Pollard scored the next touchdown for Dallas giving them a 14-10 lead. After Sunday’s 70 rushing yards Pollard hit 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

WR CeeDee Lamb then took things into his own hands and scored back-to-back touchdowns giving Dallas a 28-10 lead. Lamb finished with 13 catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He currently leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1,749 yards. He scored 12 touchdowns during the regular season and had 135 receptions.

WR Brandin Cooks tops things off late in the third scoring his eight touchdown of the season putting Dallas up 35-10.

“One down, four to go.” DeMarcus Lawrence said after the game running into the tunnel.

Dallas now will head back to Frisco to prepare for the Green Bay Packers this upcoming Sunday in AT&T Stadium.

QB Dak Prescott had another phenomenal night finishing 31/36 for 279 yards for four touchdowns and one interception.

Prescott led the NFL last season in interceptions and the very next year he finished with 36 touchdowns, which leads the NFL and had only nine.

“I will not throw 10 interceptions this season.” Prescott said in the beginning of the season and that came true after Sundays win over the Commanders.

Another key note of the game, cornerback DaRon Bland recorded his ninth interception of the season against the Commanders, which also currently leads the NFL.
