FRISCO, TX – Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on a three-year 24 million dollar contract. The ProBowler became a free agent after the 2023 season and wasted no time getting ahead of what his NFL future would look like. Agreeing to terms with the Titans will put an end to a five-year run for the Cowboy.
Pollard ended the 2022 season breaking his foot in the first round of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers. When he returned he was RB1 in Dallas after the Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott decided to part ways. Pollard was then put on a franchise tag where he made $10 million for the 2023 season.
He finished the 2023 season with 252 carries, 1,005 yards, six touchdowns, and averaged four yards a carry. That was Pollard’s second straight season where he rushed for over 1,000 yards. In 2022 he rushed for 1,007 yards as the backup running back to Elliott. Even with those numbers the head office did not see a future with the RB. Pollard is only 26 years young and has a lot of juice left in the tank. It will definitely be a sight to see how the young running back does in his hometown.
Pollard was born and raised in Memphis and went to the University of Memphis for his college football career, so this is a going hom reunion for the former Cowboy.
Pollard finished his five-year Cowboys career with 4,940 yards and 28 touchdowns.
