FRISCO, TEXAS — Not only has FC Dallas not won a game since its first of the season, the squad has not won in Colorado since all the way back in 2014.
In what will be the 28th anniversary weekend of their first meeting, FCD and the Colorado Rapids will battle it out in the Mile High City.
FCD has had back-to-back shutouts with their past two scoreless draws to Seattle Sounders FC at home and St. Louis CITY SC on the road. The Rapids are also twice unbeaten, drawing 2-2 to Inter Miami CF, and beating the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0, the first shutout of its young season, extending the unbeaten streak to four.
Colorado has scored 13 goals to start the season, the fifth most in the Western Conference; Dallas has only scored six, the fewest in the Conference and second fewest in the League.
A new coach for the Rapids in Chris Armas, last week’s MLS Team of the Matchday honors for Rafael Navarro and Zack Steffen, seven points for the Rapids out of its last three matches and of course, the altitude, will be a task for Dallas.
“It’s going to be hard, but [it will] be a game that will change the dynamic of the season,” Head Coach Nico Estévez said.
Kickoff at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park is set for 8:30 p.m. CST.
