The Dallas Wings Open The Regular Season With A Home Matchup Against Angel Reese and The Chicago Sky.

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — After a glimpse of what the 2024 WNBA season could look like, the Dallas Wings are set to face the Chicago Sky in their season opener at College Park Center on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Reflecting on last season, the Dallas Wings finished with a 22-18 regular season record and advanced to the second round of the WNBA playoffs before being eliminated in Game 3 by the Las Vegas Aces.

Now, they are looking to make a deeper run in their second year under head coach Latricia Trammell. The Dallas roster has been finalized, and the Wings have added their No. 5 overall pick, Jacy Sheldon, a guard from Ohio State. Other new additions include guard/forward Jaelyn Brown, Sevgi Uzun from Turkey, Stephanie Soares from Iowa State. After facing injury last season, Lou Lopez Sénéchal will make her rookie debut.

Last season, the Chicago Sky finished with an 18-22 record and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, losing in Game 2 to the Las Vegas Aces. However, the team has made significant moves during the offseason, including the addition of new head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and assistant coach Ty Young.

The Chicago Sky selected Kamilla Cardoso from South Carolina as the No. 3 overall pick and LSU star Angel Reese as the No. 7 overall pick in the draft. It will be interesting to see the matchups, particularly between Marina Mabrey and Jaelyn Brown, while Reese will face off against Teaira McCowan and Kalani Brown in the post.

For injury updates: Cardoso is expected to be sidelined for 3-5 weeks following a shoulder injury sustained during a preseason game. Additionally, Dallas will be without F Satou Sabally, who suffered an injury during an Olympic tournament in Brazil while helping Germany qualify for the first time in history.

The Dallas Wings and Chicago Sky will go head-to-head tonight at the College Park Center to kick off opening week in the WNBA. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
